Online Volume Formula for a Rectangular Prism Tutors
Online Volume Formula for a Rectangular Prism Tutors There are different kinds of prisms and one of those kinds is a rectangular prism. As the name itself suggests, the surfaces of a rectangular prism are all rectangles. A rectangular prism has 3 dimensions length, width and height and hence it is a 3-dimensional solid geometric figure. Volume of a rectangular prism gives us the amount of space contained inside the given prism and can be calculated by finding the product of the length, width and the height of the prism. Example 1: Calculate the volume of the rectangular prism whose length is 5m, width is 3m and height is 7m. Given the length of the rectangular prim, l = 5m Width of the rectangular prism, w = 3m Height of the rectangular prism, h = 7m Volume of a rectangular prism, V = (length) * (width) * (height) Hence, volume of the rectangular prism, V = 5m * 3m * 7m = 105m3 Therefore, the volume of the given rectangular prism = 105m3 Example 2: Calculate the volume of the rectangular prism whose length is 6m, width is 4m and height is 10m. Given the length of the rectangular prim, l = 6m Width of the rectangular prism, w = 4m Height of the rectangular prism, h = 10m Volume of a rectangular prism, V = (length) * (width) * (height) Hence, volume of the rectangular prism, V = 6m * 4m * 10m = 240m3 Therefore, the volume of the given rectangular prism = 240m3
